Inbound: Marketing’s Version of The Avengers

Being able to market your product/service is crucial to any business’ success. Problem is, in today’s day and age, no one wants to be marketed to. People have become immune to the standard advertisements in all the normal places. From fast forwarding commercials on our new nifty DVR’s, to chucking “junk” mail right in the trash can, people don’t have the time to be bothered with all these pesky advertisements.

So how the heck are we supposed to get our product/service out there to our potential customers? Enter marketing’s “Avenger-like” superhero team: Inbound Marketing. Let's take a step back for a second, and ask a question that most readers will answer the same way. If you have a problem you’re looking to solve, where is the first place you turn? Most people will turn to the internet and “Google” (how awesome is that when your company’s name becomes a verb?) their question.

From things like “How to fix a leaky faucet” to “Best places to eat in Tampa” Google helps users find the answers to their questions, and helps them find it fast! (because none of us have any time to waste, right?) There are 3.5 billion Google searches a day… that number is staggering!

So how can this marketing superhero team help your company? I’m glad you’ve asked!

Blogging is Inbound’s IRONclad Solution

ironman

Iron Man is arguably the most important piece of the Avengers team. That's why it’s only fair to relate him to the most important part of Inbound marketing: Blogging. Iron Man is an inventor who's constantly coming up with new ideas that could help save the world! Start coming up with new ideas and solutions to your persona's pain points and START BLOGGING about them.

By beginning to blog on a more regular basis and get new ideas out there for your target audience to find themselves, you will start building their trust. When you’re writing these blog articles, keep in mind:

  1. Who’s going to be reading this?
  2. Will the audience find this information valuable?
  3. Be helpful, write just enough, not more. (No filler)

Creating Premium Content: Be Known As CAPTAIN Content!

Captain-America-Shield-04

Captain America always does things for the greater good. This is where creating premium content comes into the Inbound equation. Start creating premium content (eBooks, tip sheets, white papers) that will help walk your persona through a common problem. Do something for the greater good and don’t be afraid to give away your “secret sauce”.

Being able to help your audience solve a specific problem will make you a “thought leader” in their eyes. They will be extremely likely to come back to the aforementioned “thought leader” that helped them in the past if they run across a problem they are unable to solve themselves.

The_HulkStart GROWING Your Social Following!

Everyone knows what happens when The Hulk gets angry… He Grows! Start GROWING your social following! Be more active in social media and start communicating with your target audience. Be there to answer their questions and help them with anything they may need! It’s all about being there for them when they need you. You can saturate your social channels with valuable information such as blog posts or premium content that your audience can use.(HULK SMASH!)

Don’t Let Search Engines Be A THORn In Your Side

Thor_HammerBusinesses of any size seem to be afraid of “ranking” on search engines. Thor is the only one of the Avengers that is not only a superhero, but also a God! Everyone is always worried about not being able to lift the proverbial hammer and rank on (the godly) Google… but you’re in luck! With the help of the other marketing superheros mentioned above, you will be able to rank on the almighty Google organically by providing valuable/remarkable content!

Google takes into account, in its latest ranking algorithm, the meaning behind your words. If you are able to provide content that has value, or in other words things that a large number of those 3.5 billion daily searches are for, you will rank higher!

Turn Your “Hero-like” Marketing Team Into a “SUPERhero” Team!

You should be able to see the trend from this article. Traditional advertising/marketing mediums are becoming less and less effective. People don’t want their lives to be interrupted to hear what you have to say. They want you to be there when they need you. You should be able to easily leverage the Inbound superhero team and GROW your company as large as The Hulk after hearing a “Yo-Mama” joke.

If you have a “hero”-like marketing team and are looking to turn it into a SUPERhero team, get our free marketing assessment and see how you measure up!
