If you have a WordPress or CMS website, there may be plugins and add-ons that can help you get your SEO content in order. The Yoast SEO plugin for WordPress is a great example.

3. You Will Need to Revisit Your SEO Often

SEO is NOT a one-time fix. In fact, it’s an incredibly involved process you will need to stay on top of as time goes on. This means updating old content so it’s SEO-friendly and keeping any new content the same.

4. Keywords Aren’t Necessarily King

It’s about more than keywords. SEO is also about the content you publish and share, which must be relevant, evergreen, and useful. If you publish keyword-laden posts that make absolutely no sense, it’s not going to do you any good.

SEO is much easier to manage when you work as a team. Teach your writers and content producers how to get their stuff SEO-friendly and let them do most of the legwork while you review.

SEO can cost money. If you hire an SEO company to come in and optimize a really old site, then yes, it’s going to cost you. But the return on investment for that work is also going to be worth it.

7. You Are Not Too Small for SEO

SEO works for any business, big or small. It doesn’t matter how much exposure your brand has. In fact, it’s better if you’re relatively unknown because it can help you climb the ranks.

8. Social Media Needs SEO, Too

You can tie SEO in with your social media strategy to boost exposure and search ranking. A common misconception is that social SEO goes to waste, but it doesn’t. It complements on-site SEO.

Now that you’re armed with the basics, you can return to your site, team or product and boost SEO across the board. Of course, we recommend doing some more reading or taking a course to learn as much as possible if you don’t have any prior experience.
